Rangan meaning
Rangan (रंगन) is a Hindu boy's name of Bengali origin.
The ixora flower; painting, colouring
Rangan (रंगन) is a Bengali boys' name taken from the flower. The Samsad Bengali dictionary gives raṅgan as the ixora, the shrub whose dense clusters of small red flowers are a common sight in Bengali gardens and are offered in worship, and also as painting or colouring, from raṅg, "colour". In Bengali it is pronounced "Rongon". Some name lists link Rangan with Ranganatha, a name of Vishnu in South India, but that is a different word; in Bengal the name points to the flower.
