Ranjan meaning
Ranjan (रंजन) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Colouring; pleasing, charming, delighting
Ranjan (रंजन) is Sanskrit rañjana, from the root rañj, which means both "to colour" and "to be pleased, to delight". Monier-Williams gives the adjective as colouring or dyeing and as pleasing, charming, delighting, and the noun as the act of delighting someone. The everyday Hindi word manoranjan, "entertainment", literally "delighting the mind", is built on the same word. Name lists give "pleasing" or "delighting". Ranjan is used in Bengal, Odisha and Bihar; Ranjana is the girls' form.
