Hasit meaning
Hasit (हसित) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Gujarati usage).
Laughing, smiling; laughter
Hasit (हसित, Gujarati હસિત) comes from Sanskrit hasita, formed from the verb has, "to laugh". Monier-Williams gives it as laughing, jesting and smiling, and as a noun, laughter itself; of a flower it means blown or opened out, and in poetry it can name the bow of Kāma, the god of love. Name lists give Hasit as "smiling", which matches the dictionary. It shares its root with the older Gujarati name Hasmukh, "smiling face", and is used mainly for boys in Gujarati families.
