Dibyendu meaning
Dibyendu (दिव्येन्दु) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
Divine moon
Also used to mean: moonlight
Dibyendu (দিব্যেন্দু, दिव्येन्दु) is the Bengali form of Divyendu, which joins divya and indu. Monier-Williams gives divya as divine, heavenly and celestial, and also as charming and beautiful, and indu as a drop, especially of soma, and as the moon. The name therefore means "the divine moon" or "the heavenly moon", and Indian name lists give the same, sometimes "moonlight". Bengali pronounces Sanskrit v as b, which is why the name is spelled Dibyendu. Well-known bearers include the Bengali writer Dibyendu Palit and the actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya.
