Gaurang meaning
Gaurang (गौरांग) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali and Gujarati usage).
Having a fair or golden body; a name of Chaitanya
Also used to mean: fair-complexioned, beautiful
Gaurang (गौरांग) is Sanskrit gaurāṅga, from gaura, "white, yellowish or pale red", and aṅga, "body". Monier-Williams gives it as having a white or yellowish body, and as a name of Caitanya. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (1486–1534), the Bengali saint at the heart of Gaudiya Vaishnavism, was called Gauranga or Gaura because of his golden complexion, and Krishna devotees use the name in his honour. Name lists give it as "fair-complexioned" or "beautiful". Gourango is the Bengali pronunciation, and Gaurang is used in Gujarat.
