Pundarik meaning
Pundarik (पुंडरीक) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A lotus flower, especially the white lotus; the devotee later worshipped with Viṭhobā
Pundarik (पुंडरीक) is the Sanskrit puṇḍarīka, the lotus, and especially the white lotus. Vishnu is called Pundarikaksha, "lotus-eyed", and the white lotus gives its name to the Buddhist Lotus Sutra, the Saddharma-pundarika. Monier-Williams also records a Brahmin famed for his devotion to his parents who is linked with the worship of Vithoba. This is Pundalik of Pandharpur, for whom, the story says, Vitthal waited standing on a brick. Name lists give "white lotus", the same as the dictionary. Marathi families use the form Pundalik.
