Kapish meaning
Kapish (कपीश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Lord of monkeys (kapi, 'monkey' + īśa, 'lord')
Also used to mean: Hanuman
Kapish (कपीश) joins Sanskrit kapi, "an ape, a monkey", with īśa, "lord", so it means "lord of the monkeys". Monier-Williams does not list kapīśa itself, but gives the matching compound kapīndra, "lord of monkeys", as a name of Hanumat, of Sugrīva, the monkey-king of the Rāmāyaṇa, of the bear-king Jāmbavat and, in the Mahābhārata, of Viṣṇu. The old lexicons also list kapi as the sun and an elephant. Name lists give Kapish as a name of Hanuman, which fits this usage.
