Vidyut meaning
Vidyut (विद्युत) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Flashing, shining; lightning, a flashing thunderbolt; the dawn
Also used to mean: electricity
Vidyut (विद्युत) is the Sanskrit vidyut, from the verb vi-dyut, "to flash, to shine forth". Monier-Williams gives the adjective as flashing, shining or glittering, and the noun as lightning or a flashing thunderbolt, the weapon of the storm gods, the Maruts, and also as the dawn. In modern Hindi vidyut is the everyday word for electricity, a sense that has grown from "lightning". Name lists give the name as "lightning" or "electric", in line with the dictionary. Although the Sanskrit word is feminine, as a name it is used mainly for boys. The actor Vidyut Jammwal is a well-known bearer.
