Vidyadhar meaning
Vidyadhar (विद्याधर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Possessing knowledge or spells; a class of semi-divine beings
Also used to mean: bearer of knowledge, learned
Vidyadhar (विद्याधर) joins Sanskrit vidyā, "knowledge, learning", and dhara, "holding, bearing", so the name reads "holder of knowledge". Monier-Williams gives it as possessing knowledge or magic spells, and as the name of the Vidyādharas, semi-divine beings of the Himālaya who attend Shiva and have magical powers. It was also borne by several scholars and by the Chandela king Vidyadhara of the early eleventh century. The novelist V. S. Naipaul, born Vidiadhar Surajprasad Naipaul, carried the name. Name lists give it as "bearer of knowledge", in line with the dictionary.
