Pramod meaning
Pramod (प्रमोद) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Excessive joy, delight, gladness; pleasure personified
Pramod (प्रमोद) is the Sanskrit pramoda, from the verb mud, "to be glad", with pra- adding intensity. Monier-Williams gives it as great joy, delight and gladness, and notes that in the Puranas Pleasure is personified as Pramoda, a child of Brahma; it is also the name of an attendant of Skanda in the Mahabharata. In Jain teaching pramoda is the joy one feels at the virtues of others. Name lists give "joy" or "delight", the same as the dictionary. The name is used across India.
