Prabhjeet meaning
Prabhjeet (ਪ੍ਰਭਜੀਤ) is a Sikh unisex name of Punjabi origin (from Sanskrit), used for both girls and boys.
Prabh (the Lord) joined with jīt (victory): victory of God
Prabhjeet (ਪ੍ਰਭਜੀਤ) combines prabh, the Lord, with jīt, victory. The Mahan Kosh gives jīt as victory and conquest, and the Guru Granth Sahib often speaks of the victory of one who conquers his own mind (for example Ang 6, "conquer the mind and you conquer the world"). Prabhjeet therefore reads "victory of God" or "the Lord's victory", and name lists give the same, with some Sikh lists putting it as one who wins God's love. The name is used for boys and girls in Sikh families and is also spelt Prabhjit.
