Pravir meaning
Pravir (प्रवीर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A hero, prince, chief; surpassing heroes
Also used to mean: brave, warrior
Pravir (प्रवीर) is the Sanskrit pravīra, formed from pra-, "forward, pre-eminent", and vīra, "hero". Monier-Williams gives the noun as a hero, prince or chief, and the Rig Vedic adjective as "surpassing heroes". In the Mahabharata Pravīra is a son of Puru, ancestor of the Paurava kings, and the Harivamsha and Puranas name several more princes Pravīra. Name lists give "brave" or "warrior", which stays close to the dictionary. The name is also spelled Praveer.
