Veeresh meaning
Veeresh (वीरेश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, वी, it is a Vrishabh rashi name (Rohini nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Chief of heroes; a name of Śiva or Vīrabhadra
Veeresh (वीरेश) is Sanskrit vīreśa, from vīra, "hero", and īśa, "lord", with the two vowels merging into e. Monier-Williams gives it as chief of heroes and, from the lexicons, as a name of Śiva or of Vīrabhadra, the fierce warrior form of Śiva. MW also records Vīreśa as the name of a Śiva liṅga. Indian name lists give Veeresh as lord of warriors or brave lord, which matches the dictionary, though one or two link it with Viṣṇu rather than Śiva. The name is used across India and is also spelled Viresh. Veerendra, "chief of heroes", is a close relative built in the same way.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
