Narasimha meaning
Narasimha (नरसिंह) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Man-lion; Vishnu in his fourth incarnation
Also used to mean: lord vishnu
Narasimha (नरसिंह) means "man-lion", from Sanskrit nara, "man", and siṃha, "lion". Monier-Williams records it first as a term for a great warrior in the Mahabharata and Ramayana, and then as the name of Vishnu in his fourth incarnation, half man and half lion, who in the Puranas emerges from a pillar to protect the boy-devotee Prahlada from his father Hiranyakashipu. Name lists give "man-lion" or "Lord Vishnu". The name is used in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka; P. V. Narasimha Rao was Prime Minister of India.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Vishnu.
