Narottam meaning
Narottam (नरोत्तम) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Best of men; a name of Vishnu
Also used to mean: best among men
Narottam (नरोत्तम) is Sanskrit narottama, from nara, "man", and uttama, "highest, best". In the Mahabharata it is a term of praise, "best of men", and the Sanskrit lexicons also give it as a name of Vishnu, and of the Buddha. Name lists give "best among men", which matches. The name is cherished in Vaishnava families: Narottama Dasa Thakura was a sixteenth-century poet of Bengal whose devotional songs are still sung. Narotham is a South Indian spelling.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Vishnu.
