Yudhishthir meaning
Yudhishthir (युधिष्ठिर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
'firm or steady in battle'; the eldest Pandava
Also used to mean: firm in war
Yudhishthir (युधिष्ठिर) is the Sanskrit yudhiṣṭhira, made from yudhi, "in battle", and sthira, "firm, steady", and Monier-Williams glosses it as "firm or steady in battle". It is the name of the eldest of the five Pandava brothers in the Mahābhārata, the son of Kuntī by the god Dharma, and so often called Dharmarāja or Dharmaputra. He ruled first at Indraprastha and, after the great war, at Hastinapura, and he is remembered above all for his devotion to truth and dharma, as in his answers to the yakṣa's questions. Name lists give it as "steady in battle", matching the dictionary.
