Akhil meaning
Akhil (अखिल) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Without a gap; complete, whole, entire
Akhil (अखिल) is the Sanskrit adjective akhila, made of a-, "not", and khila, a gap or a patch of unworked land. Literally it describes something with no gaps, and Monier-Williams gives its meaning as complete and whole; the adverb akhilena means "completely". The word is still in daily use in Hindi, where akhil bhāratīya means "all-India" and appears in the names of many national bodies. Name lists give Akhil as "whole" or "complete", which matches the dictionary. The feminine form is Akhila, and the longer Akhilesh, "lord of all", is a related name.
