Geetansh meaning
Geetansh (गीतांश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, गी, it is a Makar rashi name (Dhanishta nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A part of a song, or of the Gita
Also used to mean: part of the Gita
Geetansh (गीतांश) is a modern name made from gītā or gīta and aṃśa. Monier-Williams gives gīta as a song, and gītā as a sacred song or poem, religious teaching set in verse by an inspired sage, noting that the Bhagavad Gita is often called simply the Gītā. Aṃśa means a share, portion or part. So the name means "a part of the Gita", as name lists give it, or more simply "a part of a song". The compound is not in the classical dictionaries. It follows the pattern of Devansh and Shivansh, and Gitansh is another spelling.
