Dinkar meaning
Dinkar (दिनकर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Maker of the day; the sun
Dinkar (दिनकर) is the Hindi form of Sanskrit dina-kara, from dina, "day", and kara, "making". Monier-Williams gives it as making day or light, as the sun, and as the name of one of the Ādityas, the solar gods. Indian name lists give "the sun", which is exact. The name is used in Maharashtra and North India, and in the south as Dinakar. Its most famous bearer is Ramdhari Singh, the Hindi poet who wrote under the pen name Dinkar and was honoured as a national poet.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Surya.
