Kunj meaning
Kunj (कुंज) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, कु, it is a Mithun rashi name (Ardra nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A bower, arbour, a place overgrown with creepers
Also used to mean: grove
Kunj (कुंज) is Sanskrit kuñja, which Monier-Williams gives first as a bower or arbour, a place overgrown with plants or creepers; the same word can also mean an elephant's tusk or the lower jaw. The bower sense is the one that matters in Hindi, above all in Krishna devotion, where the kunj groves of Vrindavan are the setting of his meetings with Radha, and Kunj Bihari, "he who wanders in the groves", is one of his names. Name lists give "grove", which matches. Nikunj is a related name.
