Kamlesh meaning
Kamlesh (कमलेश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Lord of the lotus, or lord of Kamalā (Lakṣmī), i.e. Viṣṇu
Kamlesh (कमलेश) joins Sanskrit kamala with īśa, "lord". Monier-Williams gives kamala as the lotus, and kamalā as a name of Lakṣmī, the goddess who sits on a lotus, and also as an excellent woman. So the name can be read as "lord of the lotus" or "lord of Kamalā", that is, Viṣṇu, Lakṣmī's husband. The compound itself is not in the dictionary. Name lists give "lord of the lotus" and link the name with Vishnu, which fits both readings. Kamalesh is the fuller spelling, used in South India.
