Rajas meaning
Rajas (रजस) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
The misty sphere; dust, pollen; passion, the second of the three guṇas
Also used to mean: royal
Rajas (रजस) is a Sanskrit word with a wide range of senses. Monier-Williams traces it to the misty, coloured sphere of the sky, then dust and the pollen of flowers, and then "passion, emotion". In Indian philosophy rajas is the second of the three guṇas, the quality of energy and activity that sits between sattva, calm clarity, and tamas, inertia. Name lists give "passion" and sometimes "royal"; the second sense comes from rāja, "king", a different word. As a name it is short and modern-sounding.
