Kamran meaning
Kamran (کامران) is a Muslim boy's name of Persian origin.
Successful in every undertaking; fortunate, happy, blessed
Kamran (کامران) is a Persian compound of kām, "desire, wish", and rān, from rāndan, "to drive"; with kām, the verb means to gratify one's wishes, so a kām-rān is someone whose wishes are fulfilled. Steingass's dictionary defines it as successful in every undertaking, fortunate, happy or blessed, and adds the less flattering "voluptuous"; the noun kām-rānī means happiness, prosperity and success. Name lists give Kamran as "successful" or "prosperous", which matches the main sense. The name was borne by Kāmrān Mīrzā, a son of the Mughal emperor Babur and half-brother of Humayun, who held Kabul, Kandahar and the Punjab for a time. It is also spelled Kamraan.
