Arman meaning
Arman (ارمان) is a Muslim boy's name of Persian origin.
Desire, longing; also a sigh, grief or regret
Also used to mean: wish, hope
Arman (ارمان) is the Persian word armān, which Steingass's dictionary defines first as desire or longing, and then as a sigh, grief or remorse: the ache of wanting something. Compounds show the same range, from armān-khwār, "wishful", to armān-sarāy, "the house of mourning", a poetic name for this world. Name lists in India give Arman as "wish", "desire" or "hope". "Wish" and "desire" match the dictionary, while "hope" is a gentle modern extension of the same idea. In Hindi and Urdu, armān is still an everyday word for a heartfelt wish, which is how most families hear the name. It is given mainly in Muslim families, and also by some Hindu families, often spelled Armaan.
