Feroz meaning
Feroz (فیروز) is a Muslim boy's name of Persian origin.
Triumphant, victorious, successful, prosperous
Feroz (فیروز), also written Firoz or Firoze, is the Persian fīroz, which Steingass defines as triumphant, successful, victorious and prosperous. Compounds show how the word was used: fīroz-jang, "victorious in war", fīroz-bakht, "triumphant", and fīrozābād, "abode of prosperity", the name of several towns. Steingass also notes that it was borne by several Persian kings and named the third of the five extra days added to the Persian year. Name lists give Feroz as "victorious" or "successful", matching the dictionary. In India the name recalls Fīrōz Shāh Tughlaq, Sultan of Delhi from 1351 to 1388, whose citadel Firoz Shah Kotla still stands in Delhi, and Feroze Gandhi, the journalist and parliamentarian.
