Mansoor meaning
Mansoor (منصور) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Aided, helped (especially by God); hence victorious
Mansoor (منصور) is the Arabic manṣūr, "one who is aided", the passive participle of naṣara, "he aided or helped". Lane explains the verb as aiding someone, especially a wronged person against an enemy, and even uses it of rain that helps the land by watering it; the noun naṣr means aid and also victory or conquest. A manṣūr is therefore one who has been helped to win, in Muslim usage above all by God. Name lists give Mansoor as "victorious" or "divinely aided", which matches. The name was carried by the Abbasid caliph al-Manṣūr, who founded Baghdad in 762, and in India by the cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi.
