Masoom meaning
Masoom (معصوم) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Shielded, kept safe; blameless, innocent, artless; (n.) an infant
Masoom (معصوم) is the Arabic maʿṣūm, the passive participle of ʿaṣama. Lane's lexicon explains ʿaṣama as to prevent or hinder and, especially, to defend or protect, as when God protects a person; ʿiṣma is that protection. Platts's Urdu dictionary defines maʿṣūm as shielded or kept safe, blameless, artless or simple, and, as a noun, an infant. In Hindi and Urdu masoom is the everyday word for "innocent", which is how name lists give it. The writer Rahi Masoom Raza, who wrote the dialogue for the television Mahabharat, is a well-known bearer.
