Zaki meaning
Zaki (زکی) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Growing, thriving; pure from sin, righteous
Also used to mean: intelligent
Zaki (زکی) is the Arabic zakiyy, from zakā, "to grow, to increase", the root of zakāt, the alms that purify wealth. Lane's lexicon gives zakiyy as increasing, growing or thriving, said of a boy, and explains the Quranic "a pure boy", ghulāman zakiyyā (19:19), promised to Maryam, as one pure from sins, or growing in goodness and righteousness. Some name lists give "intelligent"; that sense belongs to a different word, dhakiyy (ذکی), which Lane defines as sharp-witted and acute, and which Urdu also spells Zaki in English letters.
