Salim meaning
Salim (سلیم) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Safe and sound; free from every kind of harm or flaw
Also used to mean: peaceful
Salim (سلیم) is the Arabic salīm, from salima, "to be safe, unharmed", the root that also gives salām, "peace", and islām. Lane's lexicon defines it as safe, secure and free from evils of every kind, and, of a heart, free from corruption: the Quran speaks of coming to God "with a sound heart", bi-qalbin salīm (26:89). The Mughal emperor Jahangir was known as Prince Salim before he took the throne, and modern Indian bearers include the ornithologist Salim Ali and the screenwriter Salim Khan.
