Intekhab meaning
Intekhab (انتخاب) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Choosing, selecting; a selection, choice
Also used to mean: chosen
Intekhab (انتخاب) is Arabic intikhāb, from intakhaba, "to choose", in the root n-kh-b; nukhba, "the pick of something", comes from the same root. Lane's lexicon gives intakhaba as choosing, selecting or preferring, as in picking a hundred men out of a people. In Urdu intikhāb is used for a selection, such as an anthology of a poet's best verses, and for an election. Name lists give "choice" or "selection", and parents understand it as "the chosen one". The name is used by Muslim families in India and Pakistan.
