Naseeb meaning
Naseeb (نصیب) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
A share or portion; one's lot, luck or destiny
Also used to mean: fortune, fate
Naseeb (نصیب) is the Arabic naṣīb, from the root n-ṣ-b, "to set up, to appoint". Lane's lexicon defines it as a share or portion of anything, a set portion or lot. In Urdu the word moved from "one's share" to "one's share in life": Platts gives part and portion, but also chance, lot, luck, good fortune and destiny, and it is in this sense that bad-naṣīb means "unlucky". Name lists give Naseeb as "destiny" or "fortune", which is the Urdu sense. It is an everyday Hindi-Urdu word as well as a name, familiar from film titles and songs.
