Nasir meaning
Nasir (ناصر) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
An aider or helper, especially against an enemy
Also used to mean: supporter
Nasir (ناصر) is the Arabic nāṣir, the active participle of naṣara, "to help". Lane's lexicon defines it as one who aids or assists another, especially against an enemy, and notes that the plural anṣār became the name of the Prophet's helpers in Medina. The Quran uses the word in 86:10, where a man on the Day of Judgement is left with "no power and no helper". Name lists give Nasir as "helper" or "supporter", matching the dictionary. In India the name is carried by the film-maker Nasir Hussain and the Urdu poet Nasir Kazmi, who was born in Ambala.
