Kaukab meaning
Kaukab (کوکب) is a Muslim unisex name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage), used for both girls and boys.
A star; also lustre, brightness
Kaukab (کوکب) is the Arabic kawkab, "star". Lane's lexicon defines it as a star, an asterism or a constellation, notes that al-kawkaba was used for the planet Venus, and lists poetic senses such as the gleam of polished iron and dew drops shining on grass like stars. The Quran uses the word when Abraham sees a star in the night sky (6:76) and in the Verse of Light, which likens a lamp's glass to "a shining star" (24:35). In India and Pakistan Kaukab is given to girls and boys alike. Name lists give it simply as "star".
