Jinan meaning
Jinan (جنان) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Gardens; the gardens of Paradise (plural of janna)
Jinan (جنان) is Arabic jinān, a plural of janna, "garden", from the root j-n-n, "to cover or conceal". Lane's lexicon explains janna as a garden of palms and other trees so dense and shady that the ground beneath is hidden, and al-janna as Paradise, whose delights are hidden from us in this life. The same root gives jinn, beings hidden from sight. Name lists give Jinan as "gardens" or "paradise", matching the dictionary. Jannat, the Urdu form of janna, is a related name.
