Kazim meaning
Kazim (کاظم) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
One who restrains his anger; one who holds himself back
Also used to mean: one who controls anger, patient
Kazim (کاظم) is the Arabic kāẓim, the active participle of kaẓama. Lane's lexicon explains kaẓama ghayẓahu as "he repressed, or restrained, his wrath", and kaẓama on its own as "he restrained himself". The Quran praises al-kāẓimīna al-ghayẓ, those who hold back their anger, in 3:134. The name is closely linked with Imam Musa al-Kazim, the seventh Imam of Twelver Shia Islam, who carried it as a title. Name lists give the meaning as "one who controls anger" or "patient", in line with the dictionary.
