Wamiq meaning
Wamiq (وامق) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Enamoured, loving; a lover; the hero of the romance Wamiq and Azra
Also used to mean: affectionate
Wamiq (وامق) is the Arabic wāmiq, "loving". Steingass defines it as enamoured or a lover, and above all as the lover of ʿAzra in the Persian romance of Wamiq and Azra, whose story runs through many of his entries, from Wamiq's father and friend to the island where Azra was sold. The pair became a byword for devoted lovers in Persian and Urdu poetry. Name lists give "loving" or "affectionate", in line with the dictionary.
