Burhan meaning
Burhan (برہان) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
A proof, evidence; a decisive, manifest demonstration
Burhan (برہان) is Arabic burhān, which Lane's lexicon defines as an evidence or proof, a demonstration, or the most decisive kind of proof, one that necessarily implies the truth. The Quran uses the word in 4:174, where a conclusive proof is said to have come to people from their Lord. Name lists give "proof" or "evidence", matching the dictionary. In India the word appears in royal and place names: Burhan Nizam Shah I ruled the Ahmadnagar Sultanate in the 16th century, and Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh is named after the Chishti saint Burhanuddin Gharib.
