Raees meaning
Raees (رئیس) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
A head, chief, leader of a people
Raees (رئیس) is the Arabic raʾīs, from raʾs, "head". Lane's entry for the root gives the verb for becoming, or being made, head or chief over a people, and defines raʾīs as a person of authority who is the head of a people; one tradition he quotes even warns of "heads of error". Steingass's Persian dictionary gives the same sense, a head or chief, and the word has long been used in Persian and Urdu for the head of an office or a community. Name lists give Raees as "chief" or "leader", which matches the dictionary. It is also spelled Rais or Rayees.
