Laiq meaning
Laiq (لائق) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Fit, proper, suitable; worthy, deserving; capable, competent
Laiq (لائق) is the Arabic lāʾiq, used in Urdu as an everyday word. Platts's Urdu dictionary defines it as fit, proper or suitable; worthy or deserving; and capable or competent, with phrases such as lāʾiq honā, "to deserve". Lane's lexicon records the verb behind it in mā yalīqu bihi, "it does not befit him". The noun from the same root, liyāqat, "merit, ability", is also used as a name. Name lists give Laiq as "able" or "worthy", in line with the dictionary. Laeeq is an alternative spelling.
