Hussam meaning
Hussam (حسام) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
A sharp sword; the cutting edge of a sword
Hussam (حسام) is Arabic ḥusām, from the root ḥ-s-m, "to cut off" and so "to settle a matter decisively". Lane's lexicon defines ḥusām as a sword, particularly a sharp one, or the sharp edge of a blade. The word was a favourite of the old Arab poets and appears in honorific titles such as Husamuddin, "sword of the faith", carried by several medieval rulers and Sufis. Name lists give "sword" or "sharp sword", which matches the dictionary, and some add a sense of decisiveness that follows from the root.
