Qavi meaning
Qavi (قوی) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Strong, powerful, mighty, firm
Qavi (قوی) is the Arabic qawī, from the root q-w-y, "to be strong", which Urdu speakers often pronounce with a v. Platts's dictionary gives it as robust, firm, solid, strong, powerful, mighty and vigorous, and lists compounds such as qawī-dil, "stout-hearted". The Quran uses it of God: "your Lord is the Strong, the Mighty" (11:66). Name lists give Qavi as "strong" or "powerful". Because al-Qawī is a divine name, Abdul Qavi, "servant of the Strong", is a full form, as with the Urdu critic Abdul Qavi Desnavi.
