Hannan meaning
Hannan (حنان) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Compassionate, merciful; al-Hannan, God who is merciful to His servants
Hannan (حنان) is Arabic ḥannān, from the root ḥ-n-n, which carries the idea of yearning and tender feeling. Lane's lexicon gives it as one who longs for or inclines towards another, one who shows favour even to those who turn away, and simply "merciful"; as al-Ḥannān it is a name of God, merciful to His servants. Lane notes the word was also used for things that hum or moan softly, like a twanging bow. The related noun ḥanān, "tenderness", is given to Yahya in the Quran (19:13). Name lists give "compassionate", which matches.
