Aziz meaning
Aziz (عزیز) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Mighty, powerful; rare, precious; as al-ʿAzīz, God
Also used to mean: beloved, dear, noble
Aziz (عزیز) is the Arabic ʿazīz, from the root ʿ-z-z. Lane's lexicon gives two linked groups of senses: mighty, powerful, of high rank, hard to overcome; and rare, scarce, highly prized. In Urdu the second group has become the everyday meaning, "dear, beloved". As al-ʿAzīz, "the Mighty", it is one of the names of God (59:23), and in the Quran's story of Joseph it is the title of the great man of Egypt in whose house Joseph grew up. The full form Abdul Aziz, "servant of the Mighty", is also used.
