Aadil meaning
Aadil (عادل) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
One who acts equitably, justly, or rightly
Aadil (عادل) is the Arabic ʿādil, the active participle of ʿadala, from the root ʿ-d-l. Lane's Lexicon explains it through ʿadl, "justice, equity", used of a person: one who acts equitably, justly or rightly. The noun ʿadl occurs in the Quran at 16:90, which opens by saying that God commands justice and good conduct. Indian name lists give Aadil as "just" or "fair", which matches the dictionary. The word is also familiar from Deccan history, where it forms the title of Yusuf ʿĀdil Shāh, founder of the Adil Shahi dynasty that ruled Bijapur from 1489 to 1686. Adil, Adel and Aadil are all spellings of the same name.
