Malik meaning
Malik (ملک) is a Muslim and international boy's name of Arabic origin.
A king; a title of honour
Malik (ملک) is the Arabic malik, "king". Platts's Urdu dictionary defines it as a king and also a title of honour, and explains it as a short form of mālik, "possessor". Lane's lexicon explains the verb malaka as to possess or own something, and to have dominion and authority over people, and records malik al-amlāk, "the king of kings". Al-Malik, "the King", is a name of God in Quran 59:23. Name lists give the meaning as "king" or "ruler". Malik is also used as a title and surname in North India and Pakistan.
