Haseeb meaning
Haseeb (حسیب) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
A reckoner; one who suffices; one of honoured standing (ḥasab)
Also used to mean: noble, respected
Haseeb (حسیب) is Arabic ḥasīb, from the root ḥ-s-b, "to count, reckon". Lane's lexicon gives three main senses: a reckoner who calls people to account, one who gives what is sufficient, and a person of ḥasab, honour earned by generosity, good deeds or a respected family. As al-Ḥasīb it is one of God's names, and the Quran says "God is enough as a reckoner" (4:6). Name lists in India usually give "noble" or "respected", which matches the ḥasab sense, and some give "reckoner". It is used alone and in Abdul Haseeb.
