Khizar meaning
Khizar (خضر) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Green, fresh, verdant; the name of the sage al-Khidr
Also used to mean: evergreen
Khizar (خضر) is the Urdu form of the name of al-Khiḍr, a wise servant of God in Islamic tradition, usually identified with the guide whom the Prophet Musa meets in Surah al-Kahf. The name comes from the Arabic root kh-ḍ-r, "green". Lane's lexicon lists khiḍr as equivalent to khaḍir, green, fresh and verdant, a word used for green plants and for land rich in verdure. Platts's Urdu dictionary refers khiẓr to Khwaja Khizr, the form of the name long used in India. Name lists give the meaning as "green" or "evergreen".
