Gulzar meaning
Gulzar (گلزار) is a Muslim boy's name of Persian origin (Urdu usage).
A rose garden; a flourishing place; blooming
Gulzar (گلزار) is a Persian word made from gul, "rose" or "flower", and -zār, a suffix for a place where something grows in plenty. Steingass's Persian dictionary defines gulzār as a rose garden, and also as a flourishing, well-peopled town and anything in full bloom. The word is common in Urdu poetry for a garden in flower, and it is the pen name of the poet and film lyricist Gulzar. Name lists give "rose garden" or "blooming", which matches the dictionary. In India it is mostly given to boys.
