Atiq meaning
Atiq (عتیق) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Excellent, choice; freed; ancient
Also used to mean: noble
Atiq (عتیق) is the Arabic ʿatīq, from the root ʿ-t-q. Lane's lexicon gives it several connected senses: a horse that outstrips others, generous and excellent; anything choice or best; a slave who has been set free; and anything old, such as old wine. Abū Bakr, the first caliph, was called al-ʿAtīq, and the Kaaba is al-bayt al-ʿatīq, "the Ancient House" (22:29), which Lane explains either as the first house founded for worship or as one freed from the Flood. Name lists give Atiq as "free" or "noble".
