Raza meaning
Raza (رضا) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Contentment, good pleasure; approval, consent; will
Also used to mean: satisfaction
Raza (رضا) is the South Asian pronunciation of Arabic riḍā, from raḍiya, "to be pleased". Lane's lexicon defines it as being pleased or content, and as approval, consent or permission; Platts's Urdu dictionary adds will and good pleasure, so that Allāh kī raẓā means "the will of God". Name lists give Raza as "contentment" or "approval". The name honours ʿAlī al-Riḍā, the eighth Shia Imam, known in India as Imam Raza, and is used by Sunni families too, as by Ahmed Raza Khan of Bareilly, founder of the Barelvi movement.
